PATNA: Former
Bihar CM
Rabri Devi on Sunday expressed serious concern over the health of her husband and
RJD chief
Lalu Prasad, a day after he was sent to
Birsa Munda Central Jail in Ranchi after his conviction in the second fodder scam case.
"He (Lalu) has undergone a heart surgery. He is on medication. My concern is that he does not take his medicines personally. He has to be given medicines in the morning and evening. I don't know what is happening there. Nobody is there to give him his medicines," she said.
Special CBI judge Shivpal Singh on Saturday had declared Lalu guilty in the second fodder scam case involving wrongful withdrawal of Rs89 lakh from Jharkhand's Deoghar treasury.
When the CBI court acquitted six of the accused, including former CM
Jagannath Mishra, in the same case, some TV channels flashed that Lalu, too, was acquitted. "The news was flashed that he had been acquitted. I was happy. Phones started ringing. But what happened in the next five minutes, I don't know. The judge declared him guilty," Rabri said.
She also appealed to RJD workers to maintain peace and harmony in the state. "We respect the judiciary. We did it in the past and will continue to do so. Laluji is your strength. You all are his strength. Keep your head high and do the party work. Keep patience. Wherever you are, maintain peace and harmony," she said.
