A small service was interrupted Sunday morning when a fire broke out in a church in Ridgefield Park, officials said.

The fire broke out a little before 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church on Cedar Street. There were no injuries reported.

The arson unit with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office responded and determined the fire was suspicious, but additional information was not immediately available.

Anyone with information was asked to contact Det. Costello of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office at 201-646-2300.

Neither a spokesperson for the church nor the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office immediately returned requests for comment.
