What was disappointing about the Bills’ latest loss to the Patriots was the fact that, for three quarters, Buffalo was right there and the game was hanging in the balance. It was 16-16 and even the most pessimistic Bills observer – I’m raising my hand – was thinking that if something seismic happened, maybe the Bills could shock everyone. Well, then the Patriots scored three straight touchdowns, and that was that. It took all of about 35-40 real-time minutes before the inevitability became the reality. Ultimately, the Bills simply aren’t good enough to beat this team, and that’s been the case for close to two decades.
