BERLIN — A Portland man was involved in a car vs. pedestrian accident on Route 9 Southbound early Sunday morning, according to Connecticut State Police.

Around 2:20 a.m. on Dec. 24, a 19-year-old Arizona man was standing in the median of Route 9 South due to a prior motor vehicle accident when he was struck by the vehicle of the Portland man, police said.

The pedestrian was transported via Lifestar to Hartford Hospital for serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The 35-year-old Portland man was transported to Hartford Hospital for minor injuries.
