Jaipur: At a time when in-service and resident doctors are on strike,
swine flu is now taking toll on health of people in increased numbers in December. Wife of an Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer was among 18 persons tested positive for swine flu on Sunday.
Also, a senior doctor of Sawai Man Singh medical college has been tested positive for the disease.
The cases of swine flu are constantly on the rise in the city. Health director Dr VK Singh said, "We have alerted health officials on swine flu. We have sufficient quantity of Tamiflu tablets, which is effective in treatment of swine flu. Also, we have made separate arrangements of isolation of swine flu patients in hospitals."
But, the increased numbers of patients are being reported with swine flu. "Earlier, we were reporting 12 to 15 cases but in the past two days, more than 15 cases are being reported," a health department official said.
Recently, seven trainee Rajasthan Administrative Service officers were diagnosed with swine flu and cases of H1N1 influenza were also reported from a hostel of Sawai Man Singh medical college.
SMS medical college administration has issued directions to purchase mask and distribute them at the outpatient department.
