Stocks start week with downturn

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) started the first trading day of the week on Sunday as most investors were cautious ahead of year-closing.

In Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), turnover, an important indicator of the market, stood at Tk 359.71 crore.

The DSEX in the country's main bourse stood at 6,159 points decreasing 23 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) reached at 1,366 points increased 40 points.

The DS30 index also decreasing 14 points to stand 2,231 points.

Of the issues traded today, 58 advanced, 245 declined and 30 remained unchanged.

In Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), turnover stood at Tk 41.34 crore.  

Selective Category Index - CSCX - declined 65 points to stand at around 19,057 points.

Of the issues traded, 36 gained, 173 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
