MICHAEL BISPING’s loss to Georges St-Pierre didn’t come as a huge shock to Yoel Romero.

Britain’s first UFC belt holder lost the middleweight title to St-Pierre last month in the main event of UFC 217.
In front of a packed crowd at Madison Square Garden, St-Pierre brought about the end of Bisping’s reign as 185lbs champion with a third-round submission victory, a triumph which saw him bag his fourth UFC title.
St-Pierre’s 26th professional win came as a big a surprise to many on account of the fact he entered the contest on the back of a four-year layoff.
Unlike many in the MMA world, Romero wasn’t stunned by St-Pierre’s impressive victory.
“It’s not a surprise for anybody, it’s not a surprise, it’s not a surprise,” ‘The Soldier of God' said during an appearance on The MMA Hour.
“I knew that Michael Bisping didn’t have good wrestling or grappling, I knew this guy had nothing for St-Pierre.
“And I knew St-Pierre would beat him and go out again.”
I knew this guy had nothing for St-Pierre
St-Pierre’s reign as middleweight champion ended 33 days after he ripped the title from Bisping’s clutches as he vacated the belt due to an ongoing bout of Colitis.
Romero, like many others, foresaw ‘GSP’ relinquishing the 185lbs strap before the Canadian announced his decision to cut short his title reign.
“For sure, (I knew St-Pierre would vacate the middleweight title), because 185 pounds is a very dangerous category, many people have good quality,” he added.

“I clap for Georges St-Pierre because he’s smart, ‘ok, I have another belt, very easy with this guy.
“I kill him and I have a very good Christmas.’"
