Follow live coverage from Democrat and Chronicle reporter Sal Maiorana as the Buffalo Bills (8-6) take on the New England Patriots (11-3) at Gillette Stadium.

1st quarter

Buffalo's defense got off to a good start, forcing a New England three-and-out and then the Bills moved into the red zone with four first downs on a 15-play, 47-yard drive that lasted 8 minutes, 14 seconds. Stephen Hauschka made a 41-yard field goal to give Buffalo a 3-0 lead. It was the longest drive in terms of plays against a Patriots' opponent this year.

New England marched down the field toward the end of the quarter with the big play a 24-yard pass from Tom Brady to Phillip Dorsett.

2nd quarter

The Patriots got down to Buffalo's 3-yard line but the Bills' defense held, forcing a 21-yard field goal from Stephen Gostkowski that tied the game at 3.

Taylor threw a bomb to Deonte Thompson on the first play of the ensuing possession for 46 yards, one yard shy of the longest pass play of the season for the Bills.
