BREAKING: Leeds Bradford Airport EVACUATED as alarm blares across travel hub
Leeds Bradford Airport has been evacuated causing travel chaos for air passengers looking to get away on the last day before Christmas.
Travellers looking to get away from the Northern transport hub were forced out into the cold at roughly 9am this morning after an alarm blared out across the airport.
Witnesses on the scene depicted a crowd of air passengers out in the cold with their bags in hand as they waited for the all clear.
Leeds Bradford has reportedly since been reopened – however the disruption has pushed back flights across the morning and into the afternoon.
According to air traffic website flightradar24, flights to Alicante, Newquay, Las Palmas, Dusseldorf, Dublin, London and Belfast have all been slightly pushed back – although it is unclear if there will be further scheduling delays.
Last year the Transport hub was one of the nation's top 15 busiest airports – with more than 3.6million people passsing through.
Leeds Bradford Airport did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
