A day after BJP Bhopal MLA Pannalal Shakya proved that Indian skipper Virat Kohli is anti-national for marrying in Italy, he went a step further and alleged that if he goes to South Africa for the upcoming tour and plays cricket there, he will be considered a national threat and will not be allowed to return to India.
The self-proclaimed embassy declared Virat Kohli “anti-national” shortly after having Italian lunch. In a statement to the media, he said, “Why does Kohli want to go to South Africa to play cricket when we have many cricket stadiums in India? I don’t care if he is playing for India or not; if he plays in South Africa, he’s anti-national.”
It was observed that Pannalal read his statement from a handbook issued to him by the BJP. “Our party can forget to release a manifesto but not this. It’s a handbook titled ‘2002 Ways to Prove Patriotism’. Narendra bhai has co-authored it with Amit Shah after getting inputs from the RSS. It’s so amazing that if you don’t like it, you win a free trip to Pakistan,” he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the wedding reception ceremony of newly-weds Anushka and Kohli in New Delhi. When Kohli questioned the prime minister if going to South Africa will lead to anti-nationalism, the PM replied, “Pannalal envies me big time as I travel to countries but he can’t. Every time an Indian travels abroad, he questions his patriotism. We have kept him in the party only so that the Opposition can feel miserable for losing to a party which has candidates like Pannalal.”
PM Narendra Modi then pulled out another handbook—which had the list of temples—and handed it over to Kohli, saying, “Visit all the temples listed in this book and you’ll turn patriotic.”
