EL CERRITO — A BART rider was hospitalized Saturday night after being robbed of his cell phone at El Cerrito del Norte station, police said.
The injured man did not suffer any major injuries and was expected to be OK, police said. He told police that while on a train, he was approached by 10-12 teens, none of whom were adults. They punched him and stole his cell phone, police said.
Officers were called to the scene around 7:32 p.m. and detained several of the teens, but the man couldn’t identify any of them. They were released from the scene.
Police never found the phone.
