NOIDA: A 33-year-old journalist, Arpit Parashar, died after he allegedly fell from the 4th floor terrace of his apartment in Sector 51, Noida on Friday afternoon. He lived with his parents in Kendriya Vihar. His body was found with multiple injuries near his apartment.

Raghvendra Singh, sub-inspector, Sector 49 police station, said he received information that he had fallen from the 4th floor. "We reached the spot on receiving the information. The family rushed the victim to a private hospital where he died," Singh said. Police said that the family did not file any complaint.

Arpit was working for a Chennai-based web-portal. He had graduated from Asian College of Journalism in 2007. He had worked for different print media organizations in the past ten years.

He had covered crime in NCR and the Jat agitation in Rajasthan. As a contributing writer for the web portal, he worked on some stories in this year's Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. He travelled to remote villagers of UP and also did some stories on illegal slaughterhouses.

Arpit was also featured as a journalist in a recently released documentary, "Beyond Reasonable Doubt" on the Aarushi-Hemraj murders.
