The Tristate does not lack for high school football talent. Here’s a look at some of the area’s top prospects and how they fared during this weekend.

10. Hughes senior guard Dwayne Rosado was named the Gulliver Prep Classic MVP on Saturday after helping lead the Big Red to the tournament championship in Miami, FL. Rosado scored 30 points in the championship game.

9. Summit Country Day senior guard Niah Woods scored a game-high 14 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds as the Silver Knights defeated McAuley 51-47 Saturday afternoon.

8. Ryle 113-pound junior Shay Horton claimed the Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference champioonship this weekend, recording a 7-5 victory in the tournament's chammpionship match. Horton is ranked No. 1 in the state and is 18-1 on the season.

7. Mason senior swimmer Allison Bloebaum had a big day in Canton Dec. 16 winning both the 200 freestyle (1:54.95) and 500 freestyle (5:05.63) at the Canton City Schools Christmas Invitational. Bloebaum is committed to Missouri.

6. Highlands fell to Ashland on Friday, December 22 but Bluebirds junior guard Zoie Barth had a nice night. Barth, who holds an offer from Tennessee-Martin, scored 28 points in the loss.

5. Jack Cravaack signed his National Letter of Intent to play football at Purdue, Dec. 20. Two nights later, on the basketball court, he scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Madeira beat Wyoming 42-27 in a Cincinnati Hills League showdown.

4. Alexis Straw led Lebanon in both points and rebounds during the Warriors’ 53-38 win against Miamisburg on Dec. 22. Straw, a Miami RedHawks commit, scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Lebanon improved to 2-1 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference.

3. Cooper senior guard Adam Kunkel had several standout performances this week including a double-double against Pulaski County on Dec. 19. The 6-foot-7 Belmont commit scored 22 points and chipped in 10 rebounds as the Jaguars cruised to a 74-52 victory.

2. Dan Cashell continues to write his name in the records book. Cashell, a senior at Walnut Hills, broke two pool records on Dec. 16 in a dual meet with Kings. He recorded a 59.30 in the 100 breaststroke and a 1:57.05 in the 200 Individual Medley. Cashell is committed to Navy.

1. Milford senior Josh Cooper did something no other bowler in Eagles history has ever done – rolled a perfect game. Cooper recorded his 300 during Milford’s 2395-1375 win against Williamsburg on Dec. 19. He also recorded the match’s high series of 479.
