GREATER NOIDA: Three
robbers were arrested on Saturday night from Knowledge Park,
Greater Noida, following a tip-off. The accused have been identified as Sikandar (20), Sobinder (21) and Pramod (19), all residents of Ecotech 1 area. The police have recovered several stolen items from them including
bikes.
Amit Kishore Shrivastava, circle officer 1, Noida, said police received information about movement of criminals in Greater Noida. "We deployed a team to
arrest them. The three suspects came on two motorcycles. A police team stopped them at a checkpoint," Shrivastava said. The three failed to produce papers of the vehicles and in subsequent checking, police found three country-made revolvers, four live cartridges and three stolen mobile phones in their possession.
The accused confessed that they used to steal bikes at gun point and sold them to some others in neighbouring districts. They had stolen a TVS Apache bike from Indirapuram, and a Royal Enfield from Sector 24 Noida.
The accused have admitted to their involvement in some 10 criminal cases. "Cases of theft have been registered against them in Sector 24 police station. They were produced in the court and sent to judicial custody in the evening," said police.
