Criminal attempt >> Juan Hernandez-Bedolla, 22, of Wilmington was observed using a screwdriver to open devices that contained candy and iPhone earphones in Walmart in West Marlborough Township on Dec. 11 at 4 p.m. He attempted to steal the earphones and was arrested and sent to Chester County prison in lieu of $10,000 bail, police said.
Attempted Theft >> An unknown person called a resident of East Nottingham Township on Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. saying he had kidnapped the resident’s mother and demanded ransom. Police determined that it was a scam and that the callers were in Puerto Rico, police said.
Crash >> Two drivers on Flint Hill road in Franklin township were driving close to each other on Dec. 7 at 4:07 p.m. Then one attempted to pass the other their mirrors struck each other. The passing vehicle’s driver was cited for not having an up to date inspection, police said.
Simple Assault >> Charges were filed against Robert Pal Bryer, 55, of Kennett Square in connection with an altercation in the 300 block of Autumn Hill Drive in East Nottingham Township on Dec. 1 at 8:54 a.m., police said.
One car >> Linda Lorgus, 63, of West Chester skidded on Lenape-Unionville Road in East Marlborough Township on Dec. 10 at 6:26 a.m. and went off the roadway, striking a sign. The car came to rest in a ditch, police said.
Utility wire hit and run >> Police reported that a vehicle traveling on Route 82 just north of Route 1 in East Marlborough Township struck a wire that was lined across the street from a pole on Nov. 22 at 1:58 p.m. The wire snapped and traffic had to be diverted. The driver fled, police said.
Harassment >> Terrance Lamont Franklin, 21, of Avondale shoved a female in the 1000 block of West Baltimore Pike in Franklin Township on Dec. 9 at 9:30 a.m., police said.
Crash >> A car struck the rear of the car ahead when the leading car slowed down on Route 1 in East Nottingham Township on Dec. 13 at 10:48 p.m. There were no injuries, police said.
Hit a guide rail >> A car traveling on Route 1 at Newark Road in Upper Oxford Township left the roadway and hit a guide rail on Dec. 13 at 11:27 p.m. The car did not have to be towed, police said.
Foot stuck >> A driver was pulling into a parking space in the YMCA parking lot in Penn Township when his foot got stuck on the gas pedal and the car it a chain link fence on Dec. 13 at 1:26 p.m., police said.
Criminal mischief >> Someone allegedly tampered with the lug nuts of a vehicle in the 400 block of Elk Mills Road in Elk Township on Nov. 6 at 11:30 a.m., police said.
