It’s no secret to anyone who follows President Trump on Twitter that he’s a Fox News watcher; check out this tweet from Saturday in which he tagged @FoxNews:
Wow, “FBI lawyer James Baker reassigned,” according to @FoxNews.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 23, 2017
The funny thing is, that tweet inspired New York Times reporter Julie Bosman to recall a recent speech by Barack Obama in which he claimed he never watched cable news — it was all old news to him by the time the cable channels had gotten to it.
I saw @BarackObama speak in Chicago a couple of weeks ago. He said that he didn’t watch cable news when he was POTUS because everything on there was stuff he had learned a long time before it was on TV. https://t.co/9skSSSVQib

Oh really?
Definitely. https://t.co/gRzBudzfGA

If you didn’t click the video, you should: it’s an amazing supercut by the Washington Free Beacon of just some of the times Obama himself or Jay Carney explained that the president learned about things like Fast and Furious, IRS targeting of conservatives, and the VA scandal through news reports, just like the rest of us.
does carrying obama's water get tiring? do you remember how many times he told the press he found out about an administration scandal from the "news?"

Then why was it his excuse for every scandal? https://t.co/ZjfB9Qs58H

Funny. How many times did he say he “just learned about” something that everyone else knew? https://t.co/hhjgcHvNmO

He literally said the opposite about 100 times during his presidency.

Which Barack Obama was lying, I wonder?https://t.co/13qrkEnz39https://t.co/v6BO4CUEll

Obama claimed to learn about scandals from the news media so often that it became a running Twitter joke that Jon Stewart riffed on.
But NYT reporters now take his claims that it never happened, that he always knew stuff in advance, at face-value.
Post-Truth era indeed.

The reason Obama can lie so much is the press never calls him out for doing it…. pic.twitter.com/jwJ3M8tObQ

Scandal-free administration didn't find out about all their non-scandals on TV.

BUSTED.
