PM to join President's Parade of Bangladesh Navy

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to visit Chittagong on Sunday to join the annual President's Parade of Bangladesh Navy here.

She will also visit the Chasma Hill residence of late former Chittagong mayor and City Awami League president ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury in the afternoon to express her deep sympathies to the bereaved family members, said Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Md Zillur Rahman.

Mohiuddin Chowdhury passed away on December 15 at the age of 73.

District administration sources said the Prime Minister will reach Naval Academy around 10:10 am and attend scheduled programmes till 3:30 pm. Then she will pay visit to the residence of Mohiuddin.

Strict security measures have been taken centring the visit of the Premier.

Contacted, Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, the elder son of the former mayor and organising secretary of Awami League, said the district administration informed us that the Prime Minister will visit their house to express her sympathies.

Senior officers of the district administration had a meeting at our residence in this regard on Saturday night.
