Jordan Ratinho hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 6 seconds left and USF beat Nevada 66-64 on Saturday night at the Las Vegas Classic.
The clutch shot by the sophomore from Livermore and De La Salle High capped a back-and-forth game and a frantic final minute
After Chase Foster made a layup to pull the Dons within one point with 46 seconds left and Nate Renfro blocked a layup attempt by Nevada’s Caleb Martin out of bounds, Martin missed a jumper from the left elbow. In the ensuing scramble for the rebound, two Wolf Pack players each flung the ball back into play while falling out of bounds. Foster came up with the loose ball, setting up Ratinho’s winner.
After a timeout, Nevada’s Lindsey Drew missed a potential tying layup at the buzzer.
Five players reached double figures for the Dons (8-6), led by Foster’s 14 off the bench. Martin finished with 21 for the Wolf Pack (11-3), 17 of them in the second half, to lead all scorers.
