UK snow: Will the UK have a white Christmas? Map reveals snow could fall in THESE areas
COULD it snow in the UK this Christmas? This map graphic shows the UK areas where a white Christmas is most likely in 2017.
UK snow is likely in some higher altitude areas as a period of cooler temperatures and higher precipitation is expected.
The graphic shows a slight chance of snow in Wales and North Scotland on Christmas day with a greater chance for snow in other areas for later in the week.
The Met Office’s forecast for Christmas Day said there could be: “Rain, occasionally heavy, will move across northern and western parts, with the chance of snow in eastern Scotland.”

Rather than a white Christmas, for many of us, it is going to be a windy Christmas and Boxing Day
It added it would be “mostly mild and cloudy in the southeast (and) cold, showery across northern Scotland.”
The graphic shows the mild probability of snow spreading across much of England later in the week.
Met Office Meteorologist Aidan McGivern said: “Snowy scenes across central parts of Britain may have added to the festive mood recently, but it appears we have peaked too soon.
“In the run up to Christmas, it is going to turn increasingly mild and rather than a white Christmas, for many of us, it is going to be a windy Christmas and Boxing Day.”
On Saturday Ladbrokes were offering odds of snow at 2/1 for Aberdeen, 5/2 for Edinburgh and Glasgow, 3/1 for Newcastle, 7/2 for Leeds-Bradford, 4/1 for Manchester and Belfast, and 5/1 for Bristol, Dublin, Liverpool, Birmingham, Cardiff, and London Heathrow.
