Louis van Gaal thinks Man Utd ace Daley Blind would be better off at Barcelona

Louis van Gaal has urged Daley Blind to leave Manchester United and join Barcelona.

He said: “Daley Blind is better off going to Barcelona than staying with Man Utd.

“He is not even on the bench for United sometimes. Daley can play in more than one position and at Barcelona he would never be sat in the stands.

“I think Daley would fit in better at Barcelona anyway. His level and his style of play is more suited to Spain than England.

“He can operate as a central defender who builds up the play. He can be a defensive midfielder or an attacking left back. Daley can do it all.’’

United goalkeeper David De Gea has been criticised by Thierry Henry for his effort in trying to save Jamie Vardy’s goal against Leicester.

“Typical Leicester,” he said on Sky Sports.

“Man Utd on the ball, that’s exactly when Leicester are at their best, getting the ball back.

“The ball’s going to go to Vardy, he’s going to play it short to Ndidi, straight away ball in behind.

“I have to say I question De Gea on that one because I thought if he anticipated that he could have stopped that.

“But unselfish from Mahrez and what a finish from Vardy, we’ve said that so many times, that celebration also at the end.”

Tottenham are interested in signing Man Utd left-back Luke Shaw this January GETTY

Tottenham are interested in signing Man Utd left-back Luke Shaw this January

Tottenham want to sign United defender Luke Shaw and Everton midfielder Ross Barkley this January.

The left-back is down the pecking order at Old Trafford with Jose Mourinho preferring Ashley Young to the former Southampton man.

Barkley is recovering from a long-term injury and turned down a move to Chelsea on deadline day in the summer.

Now the Daily Express report Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring both Shaw and Barkley to the club.

The Spurs boss wants to bring in reinforcements as he tries to ensure another top four finish this season.
