A total of 12,793 persons were trained under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and 1291 received placements in Chhattisgarh under Short Term Training of PMKVY as per 2016-20 plan as on December 14, 2017, the Central Government has informed.
Under PMKVY, as on December 14, 2017, 39 lakh (appx.) candidates have been trained (27.5 lakh STT + 6.5 lakh RPL) / undergoing training (5 lakh appx.) under Short Term Training and Recognition of Prior Learning in the country.
Under PMKVY 2015-16, it was not mandatory for Training providers to report employment data. However, as per the data reported on SDMS, out of total 19.8 lakh trained candidates, 2.5 lakh candidates have been provided with the placement offers, it informed.
Under PMKVY 2016-20, which started from October 2, 2016 onwards, placement tracking is mandatory. The placement data is reported within 90 days of certification of trained candidate. As per data reported on SDMS, 9.54 lakh candidates were trained; out of these 6.8 lakh candidates were certified. Out of the certified candidates, 2.45 lakh candidates have been placed in various sectors across the country.
Chhattisgarh received Rs 352.82 crore for Vocationalisation of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (VS&HSE) during the current financial year, the Central Government has informed.
Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship through National Skill Development Corporation is supporting Ministry of Human Resource and Development and State Government for implementation of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Vocationalisation of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (VS&HSE) and also supporting UGC for the curriculum alignment / assessments of the three schemes namely Community College, Bachelor of Vocation (B Voc) & DDU Kaushal Kendras which is being introduced in colleges and universities.
The Central Government has already started inviting project proposals under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) in Chhattisgarh to provide a major boost to skill development of rural youth.
