Strictly Come Dancing pro Anton Du Beke SNUBS celeb line-up: ‘It was a weak year!”
STRICTLY COME DANCING’S Anton Du Beke took a swipe at former contestants this morning.
The 51-year-old professional dancer slammed the show for having “weak” competitors in series nine.
Anton made the bold remark during his appearance on Sunday Brunch today, while promoting his new album.
Speaking to fellow guest Tom Fletcher, the dancer jokingly claimed that his McFly bandmate, Harry Judd, only won the hit BBC show because the celebrity line-up that year was poor.
Tom, 32, was asked if he would follow in Harry’s footsteps and compete on Strictly Come Dancing.

In your defence, Harry was in a weak year, so don’t worry
However, the singer admitted he was reluctant to join the show because his friend had won the competition in 2011.
He said: “I can’t! I’ll have too much pressure to live up to Harry. There’s no way I could compete with him.”
Anton quickly interrupted the musician, saying: “In your defence, Harry was in a weak year, so don’t worry.”
As guests on the show gasped and giggled, Anton added: “Harry I’m just kidding. Merry Christmas, Harry!”

The tongue-in-cheek comment appeared to delight host Tim Lovejoy, 49, and Simon Rimmer, 54, who both chuckled away in the background.
Later, Anton poked fun at his colleague Brendan Cole after chef Clodagh McKenna confessed to wanting to take part in Strictly.
The cheeky father-of-two quipped: “Just don’t get Brendan Cole. I mean he’s lovely but he’s rough.”
