The result of a crucial bypoll in Chennai's Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar (RK Nagar), the constituency where J Jayalalithaa won her last two elections, will be announced today.

Counting of votes began at 8 AM, but stopped allegedly due to a scuffle in the Queen Mary's counting centre.

TTV Dhinkaran's supporters alleged that AIADMK men threw chairs, tried to destroy Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), and attacked them.

After briefly being stalled, counting resumed.
