A 30-year-old man was shot on Detroit's west side late Saturday night after the driver in front of him stopped, got of his vehicle and pulled out a gun and started firing shots, police said.

The shooting took place about 11:45 p.m. in the area of Mark Twain and Schoolcraft, just south of Grand River.

The suspect was driving in front of the victim, then suddenly stopped his red or burgundy-colored truck. He stepped out of the truck, pulled out a gun and fired shots, at least one of which struck the victim in his right thigh. The suspect fled the scene

Police describe the suspect only as wearing a blue ski mask, armed with a handgun.

The victim was privately taken to an hospital and was in temporary serious condition at last report.
