MLA extends aid to fire victim

Bishnupur, December 22 2017: A residential house at Keinou Thongkha Mamang Leikai under Keinou Gram Panchayat was gutted in a fire yesterday at around 6 in the evening .

The owner of the house, Thounaojam Briten Singh (53), s/o (L) Th Ibohal Singh claimed that properties worth 3 lakhs have been destroyed by the fire .

The source of the fire is still not known, said Briten.

He was away when the fire started, he said.

Properties including paddy cutting machine, inverter and others with Rs 60,000 in cash kept inside the house was burned to ashes in the fire, Briten further claimed .

MLA Oinam Assembly Constituency, L Radhakishore Singh, has extended assistance to the victim by providing five bundles of GI sheets and a sum of Rs 20,000 .

Pradhan, Keinou Gram Panchayat Ng Sovana Devi handed a sum of Rs 5000 to the victim family and said that Keinou Gram Panchayat will provide temporary shelter, food and other essential materials to the family .

L Radhakishore Singh appealed the people to stay safe and take extra caution to avoid such incidents in the future and urged the people to have fire insurances .

Speaking to media persons, Th Briten appealed the State Government to extend relief aid considering the unfirtunate incident.
