RANCHI: Governor Droupadi
Murmu on Friday said there is a need to upgrade the language studies in local local languages, including Mundari, Kurmali and Khortha to MA degree from the present bachelor's degree.
Addressing the students of
Ranchi College, an autonomous college of
Ranchi University, during its second convocation, Murmu said the college is all set to gain the status of a university. Sharing words of encouragement with the students, Murmu said, "Today's work demands multiple skills from an individual. In order to be successful, every individual must acquire additional skills. This degree ceremony is not the end of your learning days, it is just the beginning."
Murmu also said the college faculty must work towards building a study environment to encourage talent. "Ranchi College had earned the autonomous status in 2009. Teachers here must focus on helping students procure skills that will help them in the
current job market," she said.
The convocation was organised in the Convocation Hall of Ranchi University at Mohrabadi. Around 2,270 degrees were distributed to students. At least 121 toppers from graduate and post graduate departments were awarded gold medals for securing high marks.
