UPDATE 11:26 p.m.: According to Todd Vess with Windsor Severance Fire Rescue, six agencies responded to the fire. One house near the site was evacuated. Vess said that the fire is under control but will take time to be completely put out. Vess said that there is no threat to Windsor
WINDSOR — One worker was injured late Friday in a fire that ignited at a Windsor-area oil and gas site.
The Weld County Sheriff's Office and other emergency responders received the emergency call around 8:45 p.m. according to a press release. The site is east of Windsor near the intersection of Colorado Highway 392 and Weld County Road 21.
The injured worker has been taken to a nearby hospital.
According to the WCSO press release, preliminary information suggests that the fire was caused by an industrial accident. Its cause and origin were not immediately known Friday evening.
Windsor Severance Fire Rescue is taking over the scene for further investigation.
Highway 392 is closed from Colorado Highway 257 to Weld County Road 23 while firefighters work to quell the blaze.
