Surprised to be player of the year?

Yes. I didn’t know about that. I had a good season, I reached 1,000 kills, and our team won state. That was good.

How did you guys properly celebrate winning state?

We were excited all day. We’re still excited. We had a little party, and we had steaks and mashed potatoes. Some good food. And our coach (Karen Lee) made a cool video of our accomplishments this season. That was fun.

What’s on your Santa list?

I asked Santa Claus for some new clothes, and I really need a new phone. I’m out of storage. I went to the store the other day and asked if I could buy more storage. They said I couldn’t, that I’d have to get a new phone.

How mean is Cade to you?

Ummm, I don’t know. Cade’s nice. I don’t know. We don’t really fight or anything.

That means you’re the mean one?

No.

Who’s the better driver?

We’re about equal. He might be better than me. He’s had another year to practice.

Who wins at basketball?

I’m bad at basketball. He’d win. He used to play basketball, but I’ve never played.

What do you two compete in?

When we were little, we’d go outside and race. I would win those. I’m faster than he is, I guess.

Who’s smarter?

I study more than him and I try harder, but he just listens in class and can make good grades. I have better grades because I try harder.

Who wakes up earlier?

I do. He has senior study hall, so he doesn’t have to be at school until 8:45, and I have to be here at 8. I’m a little jealous, but I’ll get to do that next year.

How many pets do you have?

We have dogs, four labs: Roxy, Tripp, Stoney and Rita. Rita is the wildest. She’s the youngest and she’s crazy.

What animals have you seen in your yard?

We live kind of far out, so there will be deer in our yard. We used to have a feeder for the deer. One time, there was a cow in our backyard. I think it got loose from one of our neighbors.

When will you see the new “Star Wars” movie?

Probably not. I’m not really a "Star Wars" person. I’ve never gotten into it. Cade used to watch them when he was little, so he’ll probably go.

What do you two do together?

We love to eat. We’ll go eat. We’ll watch TV together. Just hang out and talk.

Who eats the most?

Cade. He eats the most. One Thanksgiving, he ate like two or three plates. When we go out, we like Ixtapa, the Mexican place at EastChase. It’s good. I get a cheese quesadilla and a side of rice, while he gets an enchilada with burrito sauce and rice and beans. We share the chips pretty equally. I love the chips with queso.

Were Cade’s first 14 months the best 14 months of his life?

Oh, no. No, no, no. He doesn’t remember.

Will you miss him next year?

I’m going to miss him a lot. We’re really close. I was thinking about it the other day and I got tears in my eyes thinking about it.

I love him and his grade. They’re sweet and I’m going to miss them.
