Messi: Barcelona star made stunning Real Madrid goal with ONE BOOT on his foot

LIONEL MESSI needed just one boot to help Barcelona end Real Madrid's La Liga dream this afternoon.

Messi: Barcelona star provided assist against Real Madrid with just one boot

Barcelona thumped Real Madrid 3-0 at the Bernabeu to damage Los Blancos' hopes of winning the La Liga title.

Messi starred, scoring from the penalty spot and providing an assist for Aleix Vidal.

The Barcelona man was recently overlooked in favour of Cristiano Ronaldo for France Football's prestigious Ballon d'Or award.

And Lionel Messi has reminded the whole world of his stunning talent with a fine display at the Bernabeu this afternoon.

The 30-year-old provided the assist for Vidal's goal with just one boot on his foot.

The Argentina international sprinted to the byline in just one sock.

He then pulled the ball back where Vidal was waiting to pounce.

The former Sevilla man shot straight at Keylor Navas but the ball trickled under the Costa Rica international anyway.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry thinks Messi has benefitted from Barcelona losing Neymar to PSG in the summer.

“Neymar, we’re talking about one of the best in the world by a distance,” Henry said.

“But because he’s not there anymore, that frees space for Jordi Alba.

"So he can make those runs, he can overlap, he can make the runs inside and from Leo playing that ball over the top for him.

“That would have been Neymar getting those balls before and trying to dribble and maybe at times not waiting for the full-back to overlap.

“But now it’s Jordi Alba because you don’t have the winger because Neymar went and Dembele’s not here.

"So you don’t have a winger that stays high and wide so suddenly you have space to run into and we all know that Jordi Alba loves that.”
