PRINCETON, NJ -- Nokia Bell Labs has said that Indian American assistant professor of electrical engineering at Princeton University Kaushik Sengupta has been named the 2017 winner of the Bell Labs Prize.
Sengupta was named the winner of the fourth annual prize for his invention of a radical new transceiver chip technology that could power a truly universal software-defined reconfigurable radio, according to a Nokia Bell Labs news release.
Among Sengupta's research interests are silicon-based RF, mm-Wave and THz circuits and systems, on-chip active electromagnetic field synthesis and self-healing and reconfigurable integrated circuits and systems in silicon, among others.
The Bell Labs Prize is a competition for innovators from participating countries around the globe that seeks to recognize proposals that ‘change the game’ in information and communications technologies by a factor of 10, and provides selected innovators the unique opportunity to collaborate with Bell Labs researchers to help realize their vision.
