Jio to offer 2GB data per day in its happy new year offer

Telecom operators in India are offering a host of benefits and discounts in their plan ever since the entry of Jio and the competition is likely to get stiffer as  Jio subscribers are set to receive a new year gift as the telecom giant will roll out two new prepaid plans with larger benefits.  


The new plans will reportedly cost INR 199 and INR 299 and will offer 1.2GB and 2GB data respectively per day.


The 199 pan comprises of free voice calls, 1.2GB 4G data per day, unlimited SMS as well as subscription to Premium Jio apps for all its Jio Prime members, while the 299 plan offers 2GB  data per day, unlimited voice calls and SMS. Similar to INR 199 plan it also offers access to Premium Jio apps to Jio Prime members. Both the plans offer a validity of 28 days.


After Reliance's JioPhone made its entry in the market in September, other telecom operators including Vodafone, BSNL, Airtel has rolled out a series of smartphones in collaboration with smartphone manufacturers.


Airtel has recently launched another smartphone in association with Celkon. The operator has unveiled Celkon Star 4G+ smartphone under Airtel's 'Mera Pehla Smartphone' offer.


The Celkon Star 4G+ smartphone which comes at a  current market price of INR 2,999, will come at a price tag of INR 1,249. Customers can avail the offer via making a down payment of INR 2749 for the smartphone and by making monthly recharges of INR 169 continuously for 36 months Airtel will then offer a cashback of INR 500 after 18 months and another of INR 1000 after 36 months.
