Aldi stabbing UPDATE: ‘Victim’s mum’s ex-boyfriend’ charged with murder

THE 44-YEAR-OLD man arrested over the fatal Aldi stabbing has been charged with murder – and is reportedly the victim's mum's ex-boyfriend.

Mum-of-one Jodie Willsher, 30, was attacked while she worked at the Skipton, North Yorkshire store yesterday.

She was rushed to hospital with multiple serious injuries but later died.

Neville Hord, from Skipton, has been remanded into custody and will appear at York Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

He was locally suggested to be the ex-partner of Jodie’s mum, Nikki Dinsdale.

It is not clear how long ago the man and Ms Dinsdale were in a relationship.

A family friend told the Sun: “It was her mum’s ex who has been arrested. It is just awful for the entire family.

“And just days before Christmas – they’ll never recover from this.”

Christmas shoppers fled the store amid screams and shouts of "get out" in the moments after the attack.

GRIEVING: Brave staff members detained her attacker before his arrest

Brave staff members and shoppers detained the suspect before police arrived at the scene.

Wilf Beattie, 68, a grandad-of-eight, floored him before wrapping him in clingfilm.

Jodie’s husband Malcolm paid tribute to his wife after the devastating loss.

He said: “She was lovely and warm and always had a smile on her face. She was amazing, beautiful and a lovely person. She was a doting mother and a loving wife.”

Detectives are now appealing for a key witness to come forward.

The man, in his 60s or possibly older, was wearing a flat-cap and a lighter and darker two-tone walking-type jacket.

He was the first person to try and intervene and struggled with the suspect.

The man was reportedly shopping with a woman with short, light brown hair wearing a light-coloured, potentially grey jacket.

They are thought to have left the store before emergency services arrived.
