These athletes were chosen for the week ending Dec. 16.

Boys Basketball

Jalen Moore, Cloverdale

Moore, a senior point guard, scored 137 points, grabbed 19 rebounds, dished out 17 assists and collected 11 steals in three games. In the 3-0 run for Cloverdale, Moore averaged nearly 46 points, as well as six rebounds. He also tied a school record with 53 points in a win over Greencastle, which was set last year by Cooper Neese.

This year alone, Moore has already tallied up more than 300 points. In his four-year career, he has scored more than 1,700 points. He's also produced 314 rebounds, 263 assists and 210 steals. For his efforts he was named Indiana Basketball Coaches Association player of the week.

Girls Basketball

Hannah Lindsey, Speedway

Against Irvington Prep, Lindsey scored 14 points while shooting 60 percent from the field, and she also had four assists, three rebounds and two steals. On the season, she averages a team-high 13 points per game. She also has 45 rebounds, 33 assists and 30 steals this season.

Wrestling

Lucas Davison, Chesterton

Davison, who wrestles in the 195-pound weight class, is the runner-up from the 182-pound weight class in the 2017 state meet. The championship match was his only loss of the season as he went 41-1. He has a career record of 90-7. On Dec. 9, he won a 3-1 decision over Zionsville’s Thomas Penola.

Girls Swimming

Carla Gildersleeve, Franklin

At the Johnson County Swimming and Diving Championship on Dec. 12, Gildersleeve, grabbed the No. 4 time in the state in the 200 free with a time of 1:54.09. The junior, who partakes in eight events, also grabbed the No. 3 time in the state in the 100 fly with a 56.90 time at the event.

Boys Swimming

Tucker Brock, Indian Creek

At the Johnson County Swimming and Diving Championship on Dec. 12, Brock set the No. 1 time in the state for the 100 fly with a 50.40 time. He also set the No. 4 time in the 50 free with a 21.74 time. He also helped lead the 400 free relay team to the No. 6 time in the state with a 3:16.51 time and the 200 medley relay team to the No. 8 time in the state with a 1:39.12 time.

Boys Bowling

LaVon Hampton, Warren Central

On Dec 14, Hampton, a senior, bowled games of 229 and 279. The games helped Warren Central advance to a 9-0 record and the Indy North League title. He was also awarded the High Average Crown with a 218 score. In week No. 9 this season, Hampton had the No. 9 average in the state with 216. At nationals last year, Hampton scored 218, leading the Warriors to a ninth place finish.
