Suarez and Varane battle it out for the ball, but the Barca man wins it and Iniesta takes over 

Luka Modric picks it up in the midfield and finds Ronaldo on the left who drives to the byline and shoots but Ter Stegen is in the way and concedes a corner. Kroos takes the set piece but Ronaldo's header loops over the goal. 

The resulting corner falls to Pique who takes a tumble in the box but Marcelo has come away with great pace in the counter attack. 

Messi, Sergi Roberto and Rakitic have the ball in the middle of the park and are looking for a pass through. Messi finds Paulinho with an inch perfect delivery, but Navas saves the day after he is finally called into action. 

Kovacic finds himself free on the left and has Marcelo in front of him. The left back crosses in twice, but Pique heads it out both times. 

Ramos almost caught in possession on the right but he has Navas to thank as he comes out and clears. 

Barca's long ball out to Suarez is headed to safety by Varane and Navas picks it up and releases the attack. Ronaldo finds space on the left and but the pass to Benzema is off target. 

Messi releases Suarez through the middle but Varane and Carvajal clear the lines. Kovacic in midfield tries a fancy back heel to find Benzema. The move expands towards Carvajal on the right, who plays it to Modric who finds Kovacic in space and Real earn a corner. 

Miscued clearance by Casemiro lands at the feet of Suarez who plays it Messi and Barca have to settle for a corner. Messi takes the corner which Rakitic picks up on the other wing after it has been headed out by Ronaldo. Rakitic's ball in is cleared out Benzema. Barcelona have to rebuild right from the back. 

Varane at the other end takes care of Suarez and the long ball played to him. The resulting throw sees Messi and Paulinho play a quick give and go but Real defend well. 

Marcelo's long ball out to Carvajal has Jordi Alba under pressure, he plays it back to the keeper who gives away possession. Modric then initiates the move and Ronaldo is free on the left but he takes too much time and Barcelona recover to thwart the attack. 

Barca's Vermaelen brings Luka Modric down cynically to stop another attack after a bad pass from Alba put them in trouble. The free-kick is taken by Kroos but Paulinho clears it and is fouled after that. Barcelona rebuilding from the back.

Rakitic drives through the center of midfield and finds Messi who plays it out to Paulinho but the ball in is cleared by Varane. 

Barcelona have soaked in the initial pressure of Real Madrid in the first 15 minutes. 

Marcelo releases Ronaldo on the left who plays it out to Benzema but the pass further right is intercepted. After that Messi tries to formulate something with Iniesta but the Spaniard's ball over the top is overhit. 

Intelligent ball out for Modric to chase but Ter Stegen comes out of his goal well and clears. Messi is having to drop back to pick up the ball while Suarez has been a lonely figure at the top. 

Rakitic tries to get Paulinho into the game, but Marcelo and Ramos have the angles covered and clear it out for Ronaldo on the left. 

Kroos' corner was cleared out and Modric picked up the pieces in midfield before playing it out to Carvajal who swung it in to the far post. But the whistle went against Ronaldo 

Modric, Carvajal and Kovacic have rotated the ball within themselves well in search of space. 

Barcelona slow the game down to their pace and are passing it around themselves with Iniesta and Busquets running the show. Real Madrid though steal it back.

Paulinho on the right tries to drive through Cassemiro, but the Real man's impeccable timing on the tackle saves the day. 

Barcelona are unable to play out of the back the way the like to and Ter Stegen has had to go long every time.

Marcelo moves forward and finds Ronaldo out on the left who tries to get past the two defenders and cross it in low for Benzema but Pique has cleared it out for a throw. 

Messi and Suarez are pressing high up the pitch against the Real Madrid defense. Marcelo and Carvajal are playing high up on the wings.
