What they accomplished: The Aggies cobbled together what should be three-fifths of a solid offensive line in a couple of years, with three four-star prospects among the early signees. … One of the lone defenders to sign early, defensive end Max Wright of Katy Taylor will earn every chance to compete for significant playing time on a thin defensive line.

What they need: The Aggies never had trouble reeling in top-flight offensive stars under Kevin Sumlin, but adding the same kind of defenders to the mix is something new coach Jimbo Fisher will need to focus on. … It’s imperative A&M hangs on to the verbal pledge of linebacker DaShaun White of North Richland Hills, and adds a few more quality defenders along the way. It’s the only way to compete in the SEC West.
