SHIMLA: The suspense regarding the new chief minister of Himachal Pradesh is likely to end on Sunday when central observers
Nirmala Sitharaman and Narendra Tomar, with party's state in charge
Mangal Pandey, will land here to meet the newly-elected MLAs.
It is expected that during the meeting the name of the CM would also be disclosed. The top contenders for the post include five-time Seraj MLA Jai Ram Thakur, former chief minister
Prem Kumar Dhumal, Union health minister
J P Nadda and Shimla MLA Suresh Bhardwaj. Party state president
Satpal Singh Satti said that the meeting of the BJP legislature party would be held at Hotel Peterhoff here on Sunday around 12.30 pm.
Though a faction led by Kangra MP Shanta Kumar wants someone from among the MLAs to be the CM, another faction is strongly batting for Dhumal, claiming that the party managed to win 44 seats only because of his efforts. Majority of the elected MLAs are also favouring Dhumal's candidature.
Nadda has remained silent but he too has emerged as a top contender for the post due to his proximity to PM Modi and party president Amit Shah.
