Witnesses told police there were four people in a vehicle that ran off after crashing into a utility pole on Wall Street in Port Huron early this morning.
Port Huron police Sgt. Dave Seghi said the vehicle was northbound on 13th Street between Wall and Pine when it hit the pole, snapping it in half.
Live wires then fell on a home with a metal roof, energizing it, Seghi said.
People inside the home were evacuated until DTE Energy responded and could cut the power to the wires.
Seghi said police are looking for those involved.
