London Zoo fire leaves facility closed

The is on a after a fire broke out at a popular cafe close to the premises.

Over 70 firefighters and ten fire engines are present at the spot to douse the flames.

According to the Guardian, the Fire Brigade (LFB) was called at 6:08 am to the and Shop near the Meerkat enclosure in north-west

Eight have been reported injured so far and one aardvark is also reported missing.

A photograph posted on by LFB shows smoke billowing from the building as firefighters work at the scene.

A for LFB earlier tweeted: "Approximately half of and Shop, which also contains an animal petting area, is currently alight. It is not believed any animals are involved at this stage."
