All good things come to an end, and for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the comedic action movie actually had a few different endings in sight.

With the ending shown on the big screen being a bit happily ever after (and close-ended), fans have been curious to know other ways the film could have concluded, particularly in terms of leaving it more open for a sequel.

"There is that conversation of what could have happened," Nick Jonas tells Heat Vision as he reveals that there were multiple endings considered for the film. Says the film's director, Jake Kasdan, "We talked about different ways this story could continue."

According to prducer Matt Tolmach, "We played with a bunch of different endings. There's a trap when you make movies about games. You have to make sure they have stakes. We were very intent on making it clear that you could also not get out of the game. That idea was very important to us throughout."

And when viewers watched Dwayne Johnson's character contemplate staying in the game at the end, he actually almost did. Says actress Karen Gillan who stars alongside Johnson and Jonas as well as Kevin Hart and Jack Black, "In previous versions there was more of that where [Spencer] wanted to stay in the game with Martha. We made way more of that."

She adds, "It definitely could be interesting and would definitely leave it open to a sequel." Black thinks The Rock's character wanted to stay in the game for totally different reasons. The actor jokes, "Dwayne the Rock Johnson was the one who wanted to stay because he had the best avatar! He had Dwayne's body with all of his strengths!"

Another ending considered included a special twist where everyone gets sucked in the game — again.

Says Ser'Darius Blain, whose character adopts the avatar played by Kevin Hart, "There were a few different ideas. Originally when Alex [Wolff] and Morgan [Turner] kiss, we start hearing the drums again and then everyone gets the game downloaded on their phones. Then it's like, 'Oh, shoot! We're all going to be sucked in.' That would have been a cool way to go."

Black puts it best when noting that the ending didn't matter as much as you think in terms of a sequel, because it'll ultimately be up to the fans. Says Black, "Where there's a will there's a way. If the people love it and they want another one they'll figure out how to do it."
