Seminar on Guru Gobind Singh Sahib's life and teachings held in British Parliament complex
A special seminar "Life and Teachings of Shri Guru Gobind Singhji" was organised in the British Parliament complex in London on Thursday to mark the 350th birth anniversary of the tenth Guru of the Sikhs.
In the
seminar jointly organised by the High Commission of
India and Indo-British
All-Party Parliamentary Group, Members of Parliament; councillors and members
of the Greater London Authority; prominent British Sikh leaders long with
representatives from gurudwaras and Sikh community organisations participated
in the seminar.
British-Sikh MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi; Labour MP Virendra Sharma;
Indian high commissioner to the UK and YK Sinha discussed the celebrations
during the year both in India and UK and various speakers lauded the struggle
of Guru Gobind Singh against oppression and injustice and called the Guru a
beacon of social harmony.
There is also the news about the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind
Singh Ji to be celebrated at Gurdwara Bhai Joga Singh in Peshawar on December
25 in which the sikh sangats from various parts of the country will
participate.

"Karta (The Creator) and Karim (The beneficient) are the names of the same
God. Razak (The provider) and Rahim (The merciful) are also the names given to
Him. Let no man in his error wrangle over differences in names. Worship the One
God who is the Lord of all. Know that his form is one and He is the One light
diffused in all."
