A longtime, but cruel tradition of bear dancing has ended in Nepal.

Nepalese law enforcement recently removed two sloth bears from handlers in an area known for street performances.

Training bears to dance was popular in the Middle Ages throughout Europe and Asia until the late 20th century.

Due to efforts by animal welfare groups the practice has been coming to an end..
