About 20 persons are feared dead as a bus in which they were travelling plunged into Banas river in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan on Saturday morning. Two dozen persons are injured in the accident. Police have reached the spot to carry out rescue operations.
The mishap occurred near Dubi village, 20 km from Sawai Madhopur in eastern Rajasthan, when the private bus carrying about 45 passengers broke through a bridge wall and fell into the river. Those injured were rushed to the government hospital, while the bodies of the deceased were being pulled out of water.
Police said the bus driver apparently lost control because of high speed and poor visibility in the early morning fog.
