While protests against Tiger Zinda Hai continues, a police complaint has also been registered against Salman Khan for his controversial remarks

Salman Khan‘s Tiger Zinda Hai may have been well received by the movie going audience, but looks like it has run into a major controversy. No, it is not because of anything in the film, but a controversial remark made by Salman on a popular TV show. While promoting his film on Shilpa Shetty’s Super Dancer season 2, the actor had commented that he dances like a b***gi. Shilpa had also mentioned that she looks like a b***gi. This did not go well with the Valmiki community and they started protesting against the two stars and TZH. While several shows of Tiger Zinda Hai across various states in India were disrupted, a police complaint has also been registered against Salman Khan today (December 23).

According to a report in Hindustan Times, a small political party approached the Mumbai police today, seeking action against Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty for their alleged casteist remarks on the show. The Rojgar Aghari Republic Party of India lodged a complaint at the Andheri police station, alleging that the duo “intentionally insulted and intimidated with intent to humiliate and abused” by using derogatory comments denoting a scheduled caste community. The complainant, Navin Lade, said he also has a video clip and demanded an FIR to be filed against the two. Paramjit Singh Dahiya, deputy commissioner of police, however said no FIR has been registered even as a letter of complaint was received by the Andheri police. Lade’s advocate Nitin Satpute demanded an FIR to be filed under relevant sections of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for the alleged casteist slur, but the police are still investigating the report.
