In the recent case of a self-styled God-man allegedly involved in sexually exploiting hundreds of women including many minors at his Ashram in Rohini , the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday trained its guns against the arch-rivals BJP and Delhi Police. AAP accused both the BJP and Delhi Police, alleging that both have complicit involvement in the whole episode.
Addressing a Press Conference, AAP leader Sanjay Singh said the Delhi Police came into action only after High Court interfered and issued directions. He alleged that despite of several complaints made to the Delhi Police earlier by the locals, the police remained "blind-folded" and never took any action. "All went on under the nose of the Delhi Police, which was just sitting with folded hands. It took no action despite several complaints being made by locals on earlier instances," said Sanjay Singh.
Doubting the role of BJP leaders in the case, AAP demanded from the Home Ministry that the role of both BJP leaders and Delhi Police should be probed and action should immediately be taken against all those involved in the case.
The case pertains to alleged sexual harassment of scores of woman by a self-styled God-man, Virendra Dev Dixit, at his "Adhyatmik Vishwa-Vidyalaya" at Rohini, from where 40 girls were rescued by senior officials in Delhi and DCW Chief Swati Maliwal in a raid. The accused God-man is on a run.
