DHAKA: Seven workers sustained burn injuries as a fire broke out at the factory of Rahima Ispat Ltd in Kadamtali area of Dhaka early Saturday (December 23).
The injured are— Nazrul Islam, 28, Md Gaffar, 24, Md Ahmed Ali, 30, Jamal, 33, Sohel, 40, Ramjan, 29 and Shamim, 48.
Due to extensive heat, molten iron pieces poured on their bodies while they were working at the night, one of the injured told Banglanews.
Fire Service Duty Officer Ataur Rahman said that two firefighting units rushed to the factory and doused the fire after one hour of frantic effort, at around 2:30am.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police outpost Sub-Inspector Bacchu Mia said that three of the injured were taken to the burn unit while the rest others given primary treatment.
