A dark, dreary, snowy Saturday morning is that much darker and drearier on part of the south side.
According to Johnson County REMC, about 2,000 customers in the White River North and South sections in the Smith Valley and Center Grove areas are without power. Another 140 Duke Energy customers in the area are affected.
The Duke energy website estimates that power, which went out about 9:30 a.m., will be restored by 11:30 a.m.

Earlier in the morning, the Johnson County REMC reported an outage in northeast Johnson County that affected about 1,000 customers. By 8:30 a.m., the Facebook page said, power had been restored to all but two customers.
There were no updates on the page as about 11 a.m. as to the later outage that occurred.
About 11 percent of the people in the area are without power, according to the Johnson County REMC.
