GURUGRAM: A seven-year-old girl was killed after a Mahindra Bolero hit her on Thursday in Farrukhnagar. The victim,
Seema, had gone to a grocery store with her father when the accident happened.
According to her father Ravi Nishan, he was standing on the other side of the road while his daughter was at the shop when a speeding vehicle knocked down his daughter, injuring her face and head. She was taken to General Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.
The accused driver fled the spot, leaving his vehicle behind.
Police have impounded the vehicle and are making efforts to nab the driver. An FIR has been registered under sections 304A (death by negligence) and 279 (rash driving) of the IPC.
In another case, Shiv Kumar, a resident of Faridabad, who was working in
Udyog Vihar, was killed after his pick-up van was hit by a speeding truck near Shankar Chowk. Shiv Kumar was accompanied by
Sunny Yadav, who was also injured in the accident.
According to police, the accident took place near the foot-over bridge near the Airtel building. The duo was transporting goods in their pick-up van.
The police have registered an FIR against the unknown driver under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (death by negligence) of the IPC.
Police said they are investigating the matter and the body has been handed over to the family after post mortem was conducted.
