New Delhi, Dec 23: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday arrived at Gujarat’s Keshod Airport and offered prayers at Somnath Temple, the first time after the assembly elections results were announced in the state on Monday. After offering prayers at the Somnath temple, Rahul will fly to Ahmedabad and hold a review meeting with newly-elected MLAs and party workers.
During his visit to the state, the Congress chief will hold talks with leaders from North Gujarat, South Gujarat, Central Gujarat and the Saurashtra-Kutch region and analyse party’s performance in the recently concluded polls.
“The Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee has organised the ‘chintan shivir‘ with the aim of discussing the Assembly poll results and to provide a road-map to strengthen the organisation and increase its connect with the people, keeping in mind the 2019 Lok Sabha elections,” NDTV quoted Bharatsinh Madhavsinh Solanki , president of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee as saying.
Earlier in the day, taking to Twitter, Rahul took a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying if the saffron party had a film franchise, it would be called ‘Lie Hard’.
On Friday, Rahul had chaired his first Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting after taking over as party president. Speaking to reporters after the meet, Rahul hit out at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that the whole architecture and foundation of the BJP are based on lies, PM Narendra Modi’s Gujarat model is also a lie.
