The very mention of ‘farting’ evokes a coy reaction from almost everyone. It is one of the most natural human action, but any person who farts always ends up feeling embarrassed, especially if someone has noticed or heard the fart. Now imagine an app that lets you add a farting effect while recording videos a la the SnapChat filters of a rainbow puke. Sounds weird? But it’s true! A new app called fARTjacker has been launched that uses augmented reality to introduce a spin to an old category of apps – farts. fARTjacker allows a user to add fart effects to an iPhone’s camera and record videos. The results are hilarious!

Reportedly when Apple had launched its new augmented reality platform, ARkit, earlier this year, it has promised that the technology will bring in a new wave of apps that completely change the way people interact with their phones. They, sure enough, have made a kick’ass’ beginning with this augmented reality app for farting. The app is available in the App store for free and essentially provides users with an opportunity to see gas coming out of the posteriors of their friends or family members!

To use the app, a user simply needs to point their iPhone camera on the subject, touch their butt on the screen and swipe in the direction that they want the wind to blow. Don’t forget to hit the record button to save your work though! While standard gas is available for free, one can unlock  The Rainbow, The Atomic Cloud, Laser Danger, Bee Attack, and The Hose with a USD 0.99 in-app purchase.

Apart from fARTjacker, there is also an app called FacefARt that enables users to record videos that seem as if a person is farting from their mouth. It has been developed by Hung Truong. Next Reality news website states that the app isn’t available to the public as a download. However, the source code for FacefARt is available on Github.
