Tiger Zinda Hai BEATS Golmaal Again and Raees, records the highest opening occupancy for a Bollywood film in 2017

Being one of the most anticipated films of the year, we always knew that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif‘s Tiger Zinda Hai would start off on a fantastic note. But little did we know that we would be in for a huge surprise! The film not only started off with a bang, but beat all the Bollywood movies on day one as it managed to register 80 per cent opening occupancy in the early morning shows across India. With that, Tiger Zinda Hai has already broken its first box office record by registered the highest opening occupancy for a Bollywood film in 2017. Yes, TZH has managed to beat the likes of Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and claim this feat.

If you check the opening occupancies of all the Bollywood releases of 2017, Tiger Zinda Hai tops the list with an opening occupancy of 80 per cent. Next up is, Ajay Devgn‘s Golmaal Again which also managed 80 per cent occupancy but in a lesser screen space (3000 screens vs 4600 screens of TZH). Raees (65 per cent), Jab Harry Met Sejal (60 per cent), Judwaa 2 (50 – 60 per cent) and Tubelight (40 per cent) follow suit.
